Join our Guest Speaker Program

Women’s thrives on the stories, insights and leadership of our alumnae and friends. Through our Formal Dinners, Ready to Lead, and other special events, guest speakers help inspire, educate and empower our community. We also celebrate the diversity of our alumnae network through our podcast series, Voices of Influence.

Becoming a guest speaker is more than sharing a career highlight – it’s a chance to shape our shared story and create a moment that stays with students long after the evening ends. Whether your journey includes leadership, research, creativity, entrepreneurship, public service, sport or community impact, your perspective can spark confidence, open new possibilities, and encourage meaningful conversations.

Mentor a Wooza

Share your experience. Shape a student’s future.

Become a mentor in the Women’s Alumnae Mentoring (WAM) Program and help a current Wooza take confident steps towards her future. Your guidance can make all the difference – from clarifying career pathways and building confidence, to expanding professional networks and opening doors to new opportunities.

What is the Career Mentoring Program?

This voluntary program connects Women’s alumnae with third-year students and selected second-year student leaders who are exploring career pathways and preparing for life beyond College. Mentors are matched with students based on areas of study, career interests, and professional goals.

Whether you’re a seasoned professional or a rising star in your field, your lived experience is invaluable – and our students benefit greatly from hearing real insights into industries, roles, and workplaces.

Who you’ll mentor

You’ll be paired with a Wooza who is eager to learn from someone a few steps ahead – someone who understands the Women’s College experience and can offer practical, encouraging advice.

Our students’ interests span a broad range of disciplines and aspirations, so we are always seeking a diverse pool of mentors across industries, roles, and career stages.

What can mentoring look like?

Mentoring is flexible and designed to fit around busy schedules. It may include:

  • a short introductory call or coffee (in-person or online)
  • guidance on study-to-career pathways and options
  • resume/LinkedIn feedback or interview preparation
  • industry insights and ‘day in the life’ conversations
  • confidence-building and professional goal setting

A Career Mentoring Formal Dinner is held in April each year with mentors invited to attend.

Not based in Brisbane?

No problem. Many mentoring relationships happen via phone or video call. Distance is no barrier to making a meaningful impact – we warmly welcome mentors from across Australia and internationally.
