Why Women's?

As students begin planning their university pathways, it is also an ideal time to consider their accommodation options. This page brings together key information to assist school staff in understanding the unique benefits of The Women’s College and supporting students to make informed decisions when selecting their preferred residential college.

About The Women's College

Located within walking distance of The University of Queensland and with easy access to public transport to other Brisbane universities, The Women’s College offers a convenient, secure, and welcoming residential environment. More than a place to live, College life provides students with a supportive transition from school to university, fostering independence, confidence, and belonging from day one.

Women’s is more than just a place to stay. The College focuses on the academic, mentoring and career development needs of each student, along with providing support for wellbeing and access to a diverse range of leadership, sporting, cultural, community and social activities. Students at Women’s have access to endless opportunities to advance their studies and interests, which connect them for career and life. Students are also encouraged to make the most of being linked to an extraordinary alumnae community.

The Women’s College offers two application types for students: Residential membership or Associate membership. Deciding on which application type depends on personal circumstances. Before students apply, we strongly encourage them to get to know The Women’s College.
