The Women’s College is delighted to announce the appointment of Joanna Jenkins as the new President of the College Council.
A proud alumna of the College (1982 – 1984), Joanna brings more than 30 years of distinguished legal experience, having practised as a solicitor specialising in engineering and infrastructure. She was a partner at Ashurst in Brisbane within the construction and infrastructure project group, where her work focused on complex contract drafting and negotiation, contract administration systems, and alternative dispute resolution.
Throughout her career, Joanna has been highly regarded for her work advising boards and senior leadership teams on risk management, governance, and strategy – expertise that will strongly support the College as it continues to deliver on its vision and strategic priorities. Joanna now writes full-time and is a published author, with her debut novel "How to Kill A Client" released in 2023, followed by her second book, "The Bluff", in 2025.
Joanna was elected Deputy President of the College Council in October 2023 and has already made a valuable contribution to Council. Her appointment as President reflects her professional standing, depth of experience, and enduring commitment to The Women’s College community.
The College warmly congratulates Joanna on her appointment and looks forward to her leadership in this important role.

Alumna and Council President Joanna Jenkins.
